Its a filthy bass fest this week… wobbles coming out my nose…music…internet…
#1 Can you hear us by Koan Sound: A lovely dubstep track that defies conventions in the beat department and also in the fact that its atmosphere is actually quiet uplifting instead of the regular dank hoodie wearing suicide tracks. Download
#2 Burack (Atropolis) by Cumba-Mela: Another track fiddling with wobbly bass but giving it a completely different vibe through rhythm in this case a latin vibe. Really nice hearing an off kilter two step rhythm like this… beware even though you want to listen to this really loud the climax is so hot its practically porn for the blind…. perhaps nsfw?
#3 Lockdown by Statelapse: I really like statelapse I know this track sounds a lot like tonnes of other dubstep tracks by much more famous producers but it is all the parts I like of those tracks.. SO MANY RETRIGGERS.. Plus glock cockin’ always makes this completely white never touched a gun before nerd smile.. Download
#4 Fever Demo by Rub a Dub Market: JAHTARI, been waiting for an excuse to upload stuff from this amazing netlabel this is just some bleepy chip reggae but it is well worth just staying up to date with their catalogue lots of amazing diverse tracks all relating back to chip and dub/reggae. The second Jahtari compilation looks really great as well (specifically the track by disrupt).. Download
#5 Chemical by Vermin: Drumstep?? Sorry but not even a thing… this is just dubstep, really people stop splitting hairs and creating ridiculous subgenres of subgenres.. I love that in chipmusic people are happy to just say “I make chip”, and all that means is you stick to a certain timbral characteristic the rest of the music is completely open, having too many different pigeon holes creates lots of separate scenes that within themselves have absolutely no variation or boundaries to break. //endrant// . Pretty cool track love the wumps .. Download

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!
Sorry been busy last couple of weeks but still been listening to tunes so will have the next couple of weeks covered… This is pretty much all Chip Stuff which I am glad there is enough interesting stuff happening for me to pick 5 chip songs and I believe I will have enough next week as well… comments and suggestions for the blog are welcome as well
#1 My Heart is Forever Collapsing by little-scale: little-scale or Seb as I know him, has a real way of giving machines emotion and a complete mastery over ambience and spatialisation. This song is a true masterpiece and stands up outside of the chip scene as a piece of good music in its own right which is not true for a lot of chip stuff. He has recently released his collaborative album “Anita” for purchase on 8bitpeoples. Download
#2 Maybe by Ten Thousand Free Men and Their Families: The pinnacle of chipunk, has everything from amusing lyrics, thrashing beat, breakdowns and my favourite thing elongated pauses of silence (more silence in music plox kthnx). This track is from his new EP which you should download NOW. It may not be for everyone but pushing the envelope is incredibly important for any scene and I think if you can push the envelope with your tongue breaking out the side of your cheek you will make people happy. Download.
#3 Mr Dick Hair Sniffin Glue by Kodek: Some true game boy dubstep, really nice rhythms, killer sound design and has been kept really simple just rhythm and bass (a majority of it could almost be contained to 2 channels). Also he never over uses an idea rhythmic or melodic, really something to aspire too. Download.
#4 Gravity Dub by ???: This artist has really carved out a sound for himself that is very unique and I personally can’t get enough of it, its bouncy without being cheesy, this track isn’t one of his best but it is still really good. Download.
#5 Slutty PRG Clang Mix II by Deadcode: Before hearing this track I had never heard of Reboy, which is a Gameboy Advance sample based tracker . The Gameboy Advance does some tasty things to samples when its DAC is overloaded and by tasty I mean fucking destructive distortion up the balls. This Mix track even though stylistically something I wouldn’t like, sonically it is really really cool. Download.

#1 TekJam May 2010 by cTrix: The king of Australian 8bit dancefloor fillers is in New York atm tearing new holes in everyone he meets. This jam includes a bunch of his new material and yeah it is 11mins long but holy shit!! Some of the tracks in there are so good. Download
#2 The West is Back by Jiza: This bro wants to call the music he makes Drumstep…..
…. whatever pretty much sounds like dubstep to me? Or maybe Crunkstep.. Westside4Lyfe .. Bass heavy killer wobbles and nice percussion. Download
#3 Suicide 2 point oh by High Rankin: A little different and I like that lots of stops and gaps not all about wobbles more about atmosphere and that unsteady rhythm. There is also a massive mix by this guy on his soundcloud. Download
#4 Tigerlily by Major Lazer & La Roux feat. Rusko: Free Major Lazer Mash-Up mixtape reworking of the La Roux album?? Hell yes!!! this track features rusko and so is mega heavy! I think that La Roux’s vocals sit really nice with this one, kinda tuff. Download fulltape, track.
#5 Peacemaker by Freq Nasty feat. Propa Tings: Some more nice dubz, a bit more uptempo, not much to say about this one. Download.

#1 The Gorbals by Firebrand Boy: New EP for Firebrand Boy in 2010 and it is really nice, a really calm blend of acoustic guitar and electronics, some of the only folktronica I actually like. This is probably one of the more electronic of the bunch which is why I like it. Grab the whole EP. Track Download.
#2 Square Feet by Noisia: These guys are the kings of amazing atmosphere and sound design with dance music, this track is some dubstep by them and it just has such a full sound the whole album is impressive with a mix of tempos and moods. Download.
#3 Wavjams Vol2 by BeastMode: I love it when I find a new guy using LSDJ in interesting ways. Beastmode is very Huoratron style hard electro but maintaining the full raw LSDJ sound. It is worth checking out a bunch of his tracks but this one made just using the wav channel is particularly impressive. Download.
#4 Sweetshop by Doctor P: I have heard this track in countless dubstep mixtapes and I know it is old but holy crap the mix of 90′s rave intro to just completely switch around it is both a hilarious parody of itself and a killer tune. low quality Download.
Download: Sweetshop.mov
#5 Nineteen by Coco Bryce: Finishing up with some skwee, funky, chirpy and a little bit bussinesscore, but all in good fun. Track Download.

#1. Rango 16 (Con Geoslide) by Paul Marmota: Crunk-Step in my futurecore??? sorry but this song has all the elements I like in a song, whacky synths, badass glock-cocking and nice vocal hooks. This is another free full EP download that is worthwhile, the last track which sounds like its from a gallery installation is pretty inspiring considering the supposed low-brow-ness of this style.
#2 Boss Worm by Pixelord: Skweee!!!, this guy is really cool, heard one track called “hypno frog” in a skwee mix so checked out some other stuff and I like it bleepy a bit chilled but still with a vibe. Another free EP and it is well worth checking out the remix EP that accompanies it which has a lot more tracks than the actual EP and some great variety. EP Download.
#3 Vestige by Smiletron: Really nice straight up chip-dance stuff. It has a really solid sound but isn’t so overproduced that it has lost that chip edge.. many people would label it in with the Hairtune crowd but it is definately at the top of that bunch! EP Download. Track Download
#4 Westside by Dillon Francis & DJ Ammo: Apparently Major Lazer have been dropping this regularly in DJ sets around the world on their tour and it is pretty massive. Straight up party vibes. Download
#5 The Art of Bashing Ones Head In by KOOL SKULL: NOIZZE, crazy breakcore-esque chip onslaught. The EP is great its not really the type of thing you listen too regularly but a couple of the tracks really bang and it is great to see some more left of 8bc stuff coming out. Proper hardcore not norrin-radd sillycore!! EP Download. Track Download.

1. Hold On (sub focus remix) by Rusko: Cheapest wobble ever, mega popular track but there is a reason non-cliched super catchy bass hook and nice vocals, considering getting the full album from Mad Decent. Stream and Download
2. Newstep by Synthetic Aesthetics: This track on 8bitcollective is described as Dubstep (NO WOBBLES). lol . Musical trends are hilarious how they create interest through being known for a particular attribute which then becomes the key thing people start to avoid when it becomes more popular or overused. All that said this track is actually really good and sounded great through a proper sound system at the Mana Bar gig last Thursday. Download
3. Where the Ragga Man Go by Bitmuch: One of the few female chip artists and she makes some of the only and best Ragga/Dancehall/Dub style chip this is no exception and I think this track holds itself up outside of the chip scene as well. Download
4. Miss Fatty Rmx (Million Stylez) by Mykol Orthodox: Cumbia Dancehall such a good genre idea, it works so well. The whole album is great exploring different facets of both genres well and well worth the listen. Whole Album. Track Download.
5. Etelvina Maldonado (Manuelita Rmx) by Uproot Andy and Gecko Jones: Some nice Columbian style a little bit cumbia a little bit something else it is good fun and fairly different from a lot of stuff around at the moment
. Download.

#1 Dream Catcher by Unicorn Kid: I know this track didn’t exactly come out this week but I only discovered it this week so give me a break. I really liked the first version of this song called “Triangle Drop”, and this newly reworked track for a release on ministry of sound has the same essence with a new sheen. I look past any shit this guy has gotten from the scene for his interviews or whatever as he is making good music that people enjoy. Download.
#2 Dirty footsteps on a magic carpet by Monodeer: Just a track from a newcomer on 8bitcollective that was recommended to me, it gets a bit repetitive but overall is a killer track with a really strong feel. Download.
#3 BORNFREEOFGHOSTRIDING by MIA vs Toy Selectah: Oh wow, new MIA filmclip about the Renegade Ginger Force is super cool, although the song itself isn’t great, this cumbia rework by Toy Selectah gives it the needed movement and beat that I wanted out of the original. Download.
#4 Easier done than said by OxygenStar: The first track O2Star has done in Impulse Tracker and it is a rock super track, really heavy and with some great sounds. Download.
#5 Medievol by Divag: from his new Atari ST release entitled The Last Floppy, this track is a glitchy upbeat very fun track. Worth checking out the whole release. Download.

No chip tracks this week but all future style dub low tempo tracks, 8bitpeoples did release two FM based albums this week I am just not a massive fan of them but do check them out if you’re into that kind of thing.
#1 We, Mess-age by Himuro Yoshiteru: I cannot speak highly enough of Himuro Yoshiteru, I received his album “where does sound come from?” which was stupidly good value ($17AUD delivered with two othe CD-R’s full of tracks I’ve yet to get to). This is one of my favourite tracks on the album really blubby, bass heavy and sounds like the future. Just buy the album. Download
#2 Huarache (Nasty Nasty Edit) by Loops Haunt: Been wanting to put Loops Haunt on this blog since it started but not many of his tracks are out and about for free. This is a remix of my favourite track of his and whilst not quite as good as the original it is still really really good, proper bubbly experimental dub
#3 Round 2 by Excision & DZ: Free Excision and DZ track released by Amon Tobin’s blog site and is an incredibly atmospheric track with really original wobbles that are playing more of a rhythmic part and sit as part of the track instead of being the only note-worthy component. It builds really nicely as well. Download
#4 Digital Hardcore (Builder Remix) by Atari Teenage Riot: I really like old Atari Teenage Riot tracks and this update of Digital Hardcore is pretty cool, way better than their new single which is pretty average actually. Nice heavy wobbler.
#5 Purge by Reverend Pariah: Kinda nice slow industrial type track. Gets a bit repetitive for my liking but has plenty of potential

Lots of Chip this week the good music just keeps coming!!!!
#1 Roboroach Live by Derris-Kharlan: I have heard all of Nathan’s tracks before but his new “Live EP” is really something else amazingly melding from track to track and mastered so well by cTrix that the guitar sits so nicely along side the square waves well done dude!! Download
#2 Ghetto Freaks by Coco Bryce: Its a skweee track
… I still don’t think skweee is a legitimate genre but whatever if it means more people making stuff like this I am all for it
Download
#3 Peach Bitch by Kupa: Some new chip-step from this mexican dubstep and chiptune fan, he also little EP that has some great tracks. You can check out the EP called Pairat here . track download
Download: e765fbb7c658191165ec855707f1105d710c2aad
#4 I Can’t Ken Done This by Abortifacient: My good friend sean who I sold my first LSDJ cart to has started making more straight up chiptune stuff with a kind of dancehall/ragga vibe whilst remaining glitchy and breakcore I want more! Download
#5 Breakin’ Ankles by Oxygenstar: A new release by oxygenstar on Hand Held Heroes it is really tough Midi-Nes created grooves. The whole release has a great funky and rough vibe that is well worth checking out Sucker Punch. Track Download
